While I’m at it, I guess it wouldn’t hurt to blog up another post. Since I got to introduce myself, I’d like to introduce the rest of our team so when they start posting you won’t find them absolute strangers. It is currently summer and each member of the crew is off to vacation in far away places except myself (Nex), and now BD is back. I guess despite juggling two jobs and a start-up, I am the least busy of all and thus have the time in the day to blog. I must say, i can really get used to this
. Well, before I go into an endless ramble about myself, I would like to introduce the fiery members of the Oh Loco Resto team. Here we go!
- This is HEXadecimal (Hex)
Meet Hexadecimal. He’s currently vacationing in an undisclosed locale on the Mediterranean Sea probably working on his tan. He is a third year computer science student with me at McGill and is often my dose of anti-depressant when Montreal’s winter blues kick in. From what I know, Hex is a soccer fanatic and can eat rather massive quantities of food at a single sitting. Although he doesn’t look like it, he has quite an appetite for adventure and an unhealthy attraction to danger. Or is it it the other way around? Yes, Hex has managed to find himself chased and almost squashed by an convoy of speeding police vehicles (while pursuing a stolen car, which had nothing to do with him…i hope), almost getting sprayed head on by a fireman’s extinguishing hose (yes, he’s that hot) and almost getting killed after rolling kilometers down a black diamond level ski trail (to be later rescued by ambulance, unharmed.) Yet he wonders why I flip at the mention of him going skydiving. Well, its not him who gets the chocolate everytime he survives one of these “chance occurrences” ;).

- I wonder why Dot is so surprised?
Dot, if I may clarify, is my younger and only sibling. Many people mistake us as a couple because we don’t really look alike and this translates into numerous clarifications that we are indeed siblings. Sheesh, people! Meet Dot. The source of a lifetime’s worth of serious drama. Yes, if she’s not being stalked by mysterious strangers then she’s somehow managed strike up a conversation with some celebrity politician. “Oh, you’d never guess who I met today!” And so would starts another tale of intriguing secrets and revelations she had stumbled upon that day. Dot is entering her second year of university after finishing a year of Political Science at Concordia. I thank God that she is reconsidering her academic path because I have been driven insane by her Machiavellian strategies to control me. Dot is a passionate believer in the power of people and even more, in the power of food. Its no surprise that working in a start-up centered around food has re-ignited her passion in the local dining scene. I wonder who she’ll meet next?
- This is BD, the newest member of our team!
Meet BD. I met BD a while back when a “chance occurrence” had taken place and Hex was struck with an unexpected situation. Instead of chocolates I arrived with a few kilos of ground beef and sausages with the hope that my cooking may set things right. And so I found BD there and cooked up a carnivore’s favourite stew. I had a hard time eating it but it seemed that BD and Hex were able to force themselves to finish their helpings (out of politeness I suspect). Well, that was the last thing on our minds that day. BD is an electrical engineering student at the Ecole Polytechnique here in Montreal. What’s really cool is that he has an amazing knack for drawing, anime, and computer graphics. He’s a pretty cool guy and we’ll have alot of adventures in the coming months as we get Oh Loco Resto up and running. At the moment, the most important thing for us is to be able to present our web service as it would appear upon launching and with BD’s expertise, the vision is one step closer to reality. We’re all really excited with our new member and I can’t wait for our first meeting at the Oh Loco HQ in August.
So I have introduced you to Oh Loco’s serious arsenal. What you see here is a dedicated group of thinkers who have put their heads together to come up with what will soon become the way of eating out in the coming years. With the skills, the smarts, and the serious dose of fiery energy the Oh Loco Resto team is a force not to be reckoned with. At that, I’ll see you next time. Until then,
